100 Ways To Chop It Up (Maschine Boom Bap)

Gettin' my feet wet again with Maschine.  I'm a XL head for many years, and I'm trying my hand at making beats in the digital world with software.  Let me know what you think.  Check out my other beat videos on Youtube.com/hillprop97.  I'd love any feedback you can give.

Young RJ Makes Beat for De La Soul

RJ shows how he created the track "Forever" for De La Soul.  Its good to see producers still rockin' the limited edition MPC 3000.  I had one for a quick second.  I love the sound it generates.  You can really feel the kicks thumpin' out the machine.

9th Makes "Slumdog Millionaire" by Big Reemo

9th gives us a behind the scenes look at him creating "Slum Dog Millionaire".  You get to see 9th Wonder go through the whole process from the sampling to the verses gettin' laid down by Big Reemo.  Check out the complete song (I'm sure its on Youtube somewhere).   I used to bump this song heavy in the ride.

DJ Premier Listens to Elmatic Beats

I thought this was an ill video.  You get to see first hand, Preemo listening to Will Sessions covers of his three tracks on Illmatic.  You hear "Memory Lane", Represent", and "N.Y State of Mind".  For those who don't know, Slum Village artist, Elzhi along with DJ Houseshoes decided to redo the Nas classic, Illmatic.  So he got the Detroit band, Will Sessions to lay down the musical landscape.  The album is incredible.  Check out his version of "Lifes A Bitch" with Royce 5'9.  The album is a free download, but the instrumentals were just released over a month ago for sale on Itunes or UGHH.com.

J Rawls In The Lab

This video is makin' me wish I still had my ASR.  I only had it for a minute.  I just couldn't get the feel of chopping.  I guess I wasn't patient enough.    However, that machine made my drums and samples sound so warm and punchy.  You can hear it in his beat.  Shout out to all the ASR-10 users out there.  J Rawls has produced for many artists, such as Mos Def, J-live, and Slum Village.  Its good to see a producer of his caliber turn on the camera and let us get a glimpse of his beatmaking process.   Don'tcha just love videos like these?

What's In The Bag?

"You don't gotta carry crates of records anymore".  "You can just grab the music out of the air now". LOL...."Well I think thats corny".
